  5.    Thank you for using Carbon Copy/Net (Netscape Edition) by Microcom.  
  6.    Carbon Copy/Net lets you remotely control another PC over the Internet.  
  7.    With Carbon Copy/Net, you can access another PC located across the country
  8.    or around the world as if you were sitting in front of the other PC.  
  9.    Carbon Copy/Net is ideal for remote access, remote support, collaboration, 
  10.    remote software demonstrations and more.  Please note that performance 
  11.    can vary depending on Internet traffic.

  13.    After you have installed Carbon Copy/Net, you can now use the Carbon Copy
  14.    Netscape plug-in to access another PC from within your Netscape browser.  
  15.    To use the plug-in, go to Microcom's home page at:

  19.    Microcom also markets Carbon Copy for Windows and DOS software that allows
  20.    you to access another PC directly via a modem and phone line, a direct
  21.    connect cable and also over the LAN.  These versions also allow users to 
  22.    transfer files between PCs, view remote control sessions in a full screen,
  23.    along with printing from one location to another.  For more information 
  24.    on these and other Microcom products, please visit Microcom's home page.

  26.    Once you reach the plug-in section on the Micrcom home page, you will have 
  27.    several options:
  28.  
  29.    1) Call Another PC 
  30.    ------------------
  31.  
  32.    If you want you want to access another PC, this is the option you should 
  33.    choose.  The other PC located across the country or around the world must 
  34.    be connected to the Internet with a Netscape browser and also be in the 
  35.    "Wait for Call" mode.  
  36.  
  37.    In order to call the other PC, you must enter the TCP/IP address of the 
  38.    other PC.  You can find out the TCP/IP address of the other PC by choosing 
  39.    Communications from the Carbon Copy Options menu on the other PC and viewing 
  40.    the TCP/IP address.

  42.    Once connected, you will be able to remotely control the other PC in a Window 
  43.    that will appear on your screen.  Simply scroll around the window to access 
  44.    applications and documents on the other PC.

  46.    2) Call Microcom Demo PC 
  47.    ------------------------

  49.    If you want to test drive remote control with Carbon Copy/Net, but you do 
  50.    not have another PC set up to access, choose this option.  You will be able 
  51.    to access demo PCs set up at Microcom to experience the benefits of remote 
  52.    control.

  54.    Once connected, you will be able to remotely control the Microcom demo PC 
  55.    in a Window that will appear on your screen.  Simply scroll around the window 
  56.    to access applications and documents on the demo PC.

  58.    3) Wait for Call
  59.    ----------------

  61.    If you would like to make your PC available for another user to access, 
  62.    choose this option.  Carbon Copy/Net Host will automatically enter  into 
  63.    the "Wait for Call" mode.  The other user will now able to connect to your
  64.    PC.

  69.    If you are having a technical problem, feel free to e-mail your question 
  70.    to support.  Please include the words "Netscape plug-in" in your subject 
  71.    field.  To avoid delays, please describe your problem in as much detail as 
  72.    possible.  Include at least the following information for both computers:

  74.    * Carbon Copy version number
  75.    * Microsoft Windows or DOS version 
  76.    * Netscape version
  77.    * Type of computer
  78.    * Type of modem and communication speed
  79.

  85.    NEW FEATURES IN CARBON COPY 3.0 FULL PRODUCT

  88.    Windows 95 Support
  89.    ------------------
  90.    Carbon Copy for Windows 3.0 is fully compatible with Microsoft's
  91.    Windows 95 operating system. Carbon Copy supports cross-connections 
  92.    from Windows 95 to Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11 and Windows for Workgroups 
  93.    and vice-versa.

  95.    Remote Control Enhancements
  96.    ---------------------------
  97.    Carbon Copy Remote Control has been significantly enhanced from 
  98.    Carbon Copy 2.5. Remote Control is now up to five times faster
  99.    than in previous versions, and no longer replaces drivers in the
  100.    SYSTEM.INI file. You can also choose to view the Remote Control 
  101.    window in Full-Screen or Windowed mode.  Remote Control now supports
  102.    64K (Hi-Color) and 16M (True-Color) modes.

  104.    Remote Printing
  105.    ---------------
  106.    The Remote Printing feature allows you to print files from any 
  107.    application to the printer at the Host location, the printer at 
  108.    the Guest location, or to printers at both locations. For example, 
  109.    you could use Remote Printing if you are away from your office, 
  110.    but want to print a document located on your office PC to the 
  111.    printer at your current location. Simply connect to your office PC, 
  112.    and set up Remote Printing to send the document to the printer at 
  113.    your current location.

  115.    Remote Drive Access
  116.    -------------------
  117.    Remote Drive Access allows you to share selected drives and 
  118.    directories. Set up any drive and directory on your PC for sharing 
  119.    with a remote computer using the Drive Sharing dialog box. After 
  120.    setting up drives and directories for sharing, you can then use 
  121.    the Carbon Copy drive mapping options to redirect the drive to a 
  122.    remote PC. The redirected drive will appear as a local drive on 
  123.    the remote PC.

  125.    Microcom Scripting
  126.    ------------------
  127.    The Microcom Scripting language allows you to write programs to 
  128.    automate Carbon Copy procedures. For example, you could create a 
  129.    script that will automatically place a call to a remote PC and 
  130.    transfer a file.

  132.    File Transfer Enhancements 
  133.    --------------------------
  134.    Carbon Copy File Transfer has been significantly enhanced from 
  135.    Carbon Copy 2.5. File Transfer now includes file synchronization, 
  136.    drag and drop directory transfers, recursive directory transfers 
  137.    and crash recovery, and is much faster than in previous versions.

  139.    Modem Wizard
  140.    ------------
  141.    The Modem Wizard makes Carbon Copy installation easier by 
  142.    automatically detecting your modem type for you and configuring 
  143.    it correctly. You can use the Modem Wizard during installation, 
  144.    or anytime after installation if you change your modem type, or 
  145.    connect your modem to a different port.

  147.    Security Enhancements
  148.    ---------------------
  149.    You can now set multiple levels of security in Carbon Copy. All 
  150.    the global security options are conveniently located in the Security 
  151.    Options dialog box. You can set individual security options on the 
  152.    Password Table, by setting up a customized user profile for each 
  153.    user. You can also customize the Carbon Copy Event Log to keep 
  154.    track of any events that take place during connections.

  156.    Uninstall Program
  157.    -----------------
  158.    Use the Uninstall program to remove all Carbon Copy 3.0 components 
  159.    from your PC. The Uninstall procedure is completely automated. 
  160.    Uninstall is useful if you want to free disk space on your PC, and 
  161.    no longer want Carbon Copy installed on your PC.

  163.    Load Upon Windows Startup
  164.    -------------------------
  165.    Use the "Load upon Windows Startup" feature to start Carbon Copy
  166.    running on Windows 95 prior to the Network login prompt. This 
  167.    feature is useful in conjunction with the "Reboot On Disconnect"
  168.    feature. It allows you to remotely control a Network login on
  169.    to Windows 95.
